Hello Lavender Friends,
I have some important news to share with you. With the 10th anniversary of OVLF coming up, I believe it's the perfect time for us to pivot our business and prioritize our quality of life. After careful reflection and consideration, we have decided to implement changes that will allow us to achieve a better work-life balance.
For nearly a decade, we have welcomed visitors to our property with open arms and hearts. This has given us the opportunity to share our sacred space with kindred spirits seeking peace and tranquility. While most visitors have been incredibly kind and appreciative, making this experience truly rewarding, it has also brought many challenges.
The relentless demands and pressures of running our unique business have taken a significant toll on my well-being. Unfortunately, burnout is a serious issue that I can no longer ignore. Meanwhile, my husband Jim, works tirelessly to maintain the property while also working a full-time job outside the farm. He has always been incredibly supportive in making all my crazy dreams come true, and I can’t continue to expect him to maintain this grueling schedule. It’s just not sustainable for either of us individually and as a couple.
So, what does this mean exactly? Starting with the 2025 Season, we will no longer be open every weekend. Instead, we will only be open for special events.
We will continue to host our beloved Sunset At The Lavender Farm Events which always sell out!! In fact, mark your calendars... 6/14/25, 7/19/25 and 8/16/25. These gatherings not only keep us connected to our cherished supporters but also provide a truly unique dining and entertainment experience.
A couple of years ago we introduced a series of Wellness & Self-Care Petite Retreats. The feedback from these events was overwhelmingly positive and I can see why. These retreats offer a safe and nurturing space for sharing, learning, setting goals and intentions, self-discovery and personal growth, support and encouragement, soul searching, and healing. I look forward to offering more of these retreats next season.
Over the years, we have had the honor and privilege of hosting numerous weddings, showers, and special celebrations. Our storybook setting makes our property the perfect picturesque oasis for these significant occasions and milestones. While these events can be demanding, they bring me joy, so we will continue to book private events.
We also plan to participate in various shows/festivals throughout the region. These dates will be published on our website and announced via our Newsletters and social media accounts.
We are also scaling back our retail operation. Don’t worry... we will continue to sell our finely crafted lavender products through our online shop and offer Store Pick-Up for local customers to save on shipping costs.
Furthermore, we are reducing the home décor and accessories we now offer to make room in our shop to host small gatherings. To help us achieve this goal, we are launching a Customer Appreciation Event. From now until we close for the season, come enjoy 25% off non-lavender products... just in time for the Holidays!! Our hours will remain Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from 10 am - 5 pm with our last day of the 2024 season being Sunday, December 22.
We want to express our deepest gratitude to all our amazing customers, some of whom have become like family (you know who you are), for supporting us throughout this journey. Your loyalty and kindness have meant the world to us, and we are incredibly thankful for the relationships we have built.
Change is never easy, but it is often necessary. We appreciate your continued support as we navigate these changes. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this process.
With Love & Gratitude,
Monica & Jim
