We're Still Here 💜

Orchard View Lavender Farm

Hello Lavender Loving Friends!!

How is it April already?!?! We hope you're all doing well.

As we gear up for the busy season ahead, we want to take a moment to address some misconceptions: NO, we are not closed!! We are still here and looking forward to this new chapter in our journey!!

As many of you are aware, last October, we published our Newsletter titled "Important Announcement - Changes Coming to OVLF". We shared our decision to pivot our business to achieve a healthier work/life balance. While we will not be open every weekend, rest assured that we will be hosting our highly anticipated events. In addition, we are exploring the exciting possibility of surprise Pop-Up openings.

Our shop is still open, which you may visit during our events. We will continue to stock all our best-selling handmade artisan lavender products as well as unique home decor and accessories. As always, our online shop is open 24/7, and we are still offering convenient in-store pick-up for local customers.

We hope this clears up any confusion, but if you still have questions, please feel free to reach out to us via email at monica@orchardviewlavenderfarm.com.

We've been getting lots of inquiries about our Sunset At The Lavender Farm Events. We are thrilled to announce that we are finalizing the menu for our June 14 Event, and tickets will be available soon. As you know, these tickets sell out very quickly, so please do not hesitate to secure your spot.

As always, our events can be found on the Events Page of our website.

This is the time of year I provide important tips for caring for your Lavender. I normally, do this later in April but Spring has sprung early!! I've noticed that some lavenders are starting to green up while others are still dormant.

 Lavender Care Tips:

  • Be Patient!! Waiting for the lavender to wake up from its winter slumber can be torture. Sometimes, lavender takes its sweet time coming out of dormancy making us think it's dead (said in a whisper). If it's late in the season and you're not sure, do what I call The Bend Test. What's The Bend Test?? I'm glad you asked. Just take one of the "branches" and bend it. If it doesn't snap off there's still life in it. You can also scratch at the base of the plant and if you see green, leave it alone.

  • Be sure to clean away debris that may have accumulated at the base of the plant, which can trap moisture. Remember, Lavender likes it dry.

  • DO NOT PRUNE YET! If you didn’t get a chance to prune last fall, you can prune in the spring, but you must wait until the danger of frost has passed.

Remember, we're here to help, so feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

We are incredibly grateful for the continued love and support from our lavender friends and family. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

With Love & Gratitude,

Monica & Jim
